What is a hook generator?
A hook generator is a tool that writes the first line of a post for you. You give it your draft or idea, and it suggests openings built to make people stop and read. This one writes three at a time, in the tone and for the network you pick.
How to write a hook
Start with the most interesting thing in your post, not the background. Say it in one short sentence, and leave one question open that the rest of the post answers. Then cut every word that doesn't earn its place.
- Lead with the result. "We cut our churn in half" beats "Here's what we learned about churn."
- Use a real number. "3 years, 41 rejections, 1 yes" is easier to picture than "a long time."
- Name the stake. Who is this for, and what do they lose by scrolling past?
- Keep it short. On LinkedIn, the hook is what shows before "…more", about 140 characters on a phone.
Hooks for LinkedIn and X are different
LinkedIn readers give a post a few seconds and expect something useful, so a clear promise or a specific story works. X moves faster and rewards a sharper first line, often a bold claim or a list promise. That's why the generator asks where you're posting.
If you want the whole post, not just the first line, Postel writes it in your voice. You can also check a draft with the free post checker or format it with the LinkedIn text formatter.
