AI Content Calendar: Plan and Write a Week of LinkedIn and X Posts in Your Voice
Postel's Plan next week is an AI content calendar for LinkedIn and X: it fills next week's open slots with post ideas from your own material, then writes the posts you keep, in your voice. Each one waits in For You for you to edit, schedule or skip. Plan next week is on Pro and up; Pro costs $49/month, or $29/month billed yearly.

You don't need a content strategy yet. You need ten posts.
A clear positionFrom: a niche trendI priced by the hour for six years. Here's what I'd change.
Mistake and fixFrom: your FactsSix new clients from one post. This was the post.
Number firstFrom: your Sep 14 postA client's question on a call became my best post.
The turning pointFrom: a viral postWhat "Plan next week" does
- Starts full. The plan is ready when it opens, with a card for each planned slot: up to 3 LinkedIn and 5 X posts a week. You don't start from a blank calendar.
- Uses your own material. Each card comes from something real: your Facts (the details about you and your work that Postel saves from your own writing), your best older posts, trends in your niche, viral posts waiting in For You, or your topics. The card says which.
- Sticks to what you've said. Opening lines can only state what your material says, and Postel checks every number against it before it writes.
- Lets you change anything. Swap a card for another idea, remove it, edit its opening line, or add your own from a side panel: Talk (say or type what's on your mind), Trends, Viral posts or Formats.
- Writes on the server. Press Write (it shows the count, e.g. "Write 8 posts") and you can leave the page. The posts land in For You (the Review page in the app) in their slots, or get scheduled there if you tick "Schedule them in their slots once written".
- Charges only for posts. Planning is free. Writing costs 1 credit per finished post, nothing for a post that fails, and nothing on your own AI key.

How it works
Step 1: Open Plan next week
Click "Plan next week" in the header of Today, For You (Review in the app) or Calendar. The plan fills your own posting slots and skips any day that already has a post on that network: up to 3 LinkedIn posts a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and up to 5 on X (one per weekday). Slots it leaves empty are yours to fill with "Add a post". Despite the name, it can plan 7, 14 or 28 days.
Step 2: Read the plan
Each card shows its slot, an opening line, its format and the material it comes from. The formats are the post shapes in the LinkedIn post templates, such as "The mistake and the fix" or "A clear position".
Step 3: Make it yours
Swap the cards you don't like, delete the ones you don't need, and edit any opening line. To add a post, open the side panel and talk through an idea, pick a trend, start from a viral post, or choose a format.
Step 4: Write the posts
Press Write. The button shows the count, for example "Write 8 posts". Postel writes them card by card on the server, so you can close the tab. If your credits run short, it offers to write the first few or to add credits.
Step 5: Review and schedule
The finished posts wait in For You in their slots. Edit, schedule or skip each one. On a phone, swipe right to schedule and left to skip.
For You: drafts from viral posts in your niche
Plan next week is one way Postel fills your calendar. The other is For You, the queue where every draft waits for you. Postel reads viral posts on your topics, keeps the ones that fit you, and writes your own post from each, in your voice, for LinkedIn and X. It shows which viral post each draft came from.
Like Plan next week, For You writes on the server, so the queue keeps filling after you close the tab. You get 60 For You drafts a month on Pro and 200 on Team.
How to plan a week of social media content
You don't need a tool to plan a good week. This is the process Postel automates, and it works on paper too.
1. Pick a cadence you can keep
Decide how many posts each network gets in a normal week, then keep it for a month before changing it. Three LinkedIn posts and five on X is a workable start for one person, and it's the most Postel plans each week. Fewer posts every week beats a burst followed by silence.
2. Fix your posting times
Choose set times, for example 9:00 on LinkedIn days and 8:00 on X. In Postel's study of 289,640 X posts, 6 to 9am Eastern was the best stretch (best time to post on X). With fixed slots, planning means filling gaps instead of picking times every week.
3. Collect material before ideas
Write down what actually happened this week: a result with its number, a question a client asked, a mistake you fixed, an opinion you defended, a tool you started using. Posts built on real material are easier to write and harder to copy.
4. Give each post a format
A format is the shape of a post: teach something, take a side, tell a story, or announce something. Mixing them keeps a week from reading like the same post five times. The LinkedIn post templates and tweet templates list the formats Postel uses, with their structure.
5. Write the opening lines first
For each slot, write only the first line. If an opening isn't interesting on its own, the post won't be either. Replace it now, before you've written the rest.
6. Leave one slot spare
Keep one slot open for something timely: news in your field, a question you get on Wednesday, a win that happens mid-week.
7. Write in one sitting, then look back
Write the week's posts in one block of time, schedule them, and next Monday check which one did best. Plan more posts like that one.

Frequently asked questions
Updated Oct 30, 2026.
What is an AI content calendar?
A content calendar that an AI helps fill. Instead of a blank grid, it proposes what to post and when, and some tools also write the posts. Postel's Plan next week does both: it proposes posts for your open slots from your own material, then writes the ones you keep.
Can AI write a week of social media posts in my voice?
Yes. Postel's Plan next week writes a week of LinkedIn and X posts from your own posts, your Facts and your topics, and checks that each opening line only says what your material says. Every post waits in For You for you to edit, schedule or skip, unless you tick "Schedule them in their slots once written".
Which networks does Plan next week write for?
LinkedIn and X. You can schedule posts to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon from the editor, but Plan next week and For You write for LinkedIn and X only for now.
Can I plan a month of content?
Yes. Plan next week can plan the next 7, 14 or 28 days.
Do the posts go out automatically?
Only if you tick "Schedule them in their slots once written". Otherwise they wait in For You, where you schedule, edit or skip each one.
How much does it cost?
Plan next week is on Pro and up; Pro costs $49/month, or $29/month billed yearly. Planning is free. Each written post costs 1 credit, and nothing if a post fails or you use your own AI key.
How do I make a social media content calendar?
Pick a weekly cadence you can keep, fix your posting times, collect real material, give each post a format, write the opening lines first, keep one slot spare, and review what worked each Monday. The template above has the whole week on one page.
