Claude can't post to X by itself, but you can connect it in a few minutes: add Postel from Claude's connector directory and sign in. After that, Claude drafts X posts and threads in your voice, saves them in Postel and schedules or publishes them to your X account once you approve. You don't need an X developer account or API key.
Listed in Claude's directory. Needs a Postel account: $1 for 7 days, then from $29 a month.

Yes, through a connector. Claude supports connectors built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). A connector gives Claude tools such as "write a post", "schedule a post" or "publish now", and Claude calls them when you ask.
Before you pick a connector:
X's own MCP server isn't made for posting. It reads X and can publish Articles, but its docs list no tool for regular posts or scheduling (checked October 29, 2026). It's built for developers with their own X app.
What Claude can do depends on the connector. Some connectors only read your X analytics. A publishing connector like Postel lets Claude write, schedule and post.
Claude asks before it schedules or publishes. That's the default, and you can switch it off per tool. Research is the exception: it can run connector tools without asking, so switch off Postel's schedule and publish tools before you use it.
How to connect Claude to X on the web and desktop
Step 1: Create a Postel account and connect X
Sign up for Postel with your X account. That connects the X account your posts will go to. You can also connect it later under Settings > Channels.
Step 2: Add Postel from Claude's connector directory
Open Postel in Claude's connector directory and click Connect. To add it by hand instead, open Customize > Connectors, click + Add, choose Add custom connector and enter https://www.postel.app/api/mcp. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds the connector first, under Organization settings > Connectors.
Step 3: Sign in to Postel
A Postel window opens. Sign in, approve access, and the connector is ready. Claude never sees your X password; Postel holds the X connection.
Step 4: Turn the connector on in a chat
In a chat, click + at the lower left, open Connectors and switch Postel on. (Menu names from Anthropic's connector guide, checked October 29, 2026.)
Step 5: Ask Claude for a post
Try "Draft an X post about what we shipped this week." Claude calls Postel, which writes the post in your voice and saves it as a draft. Ask for changes, then tell Claude when to schedule it.
Claude Desktop uses the same connectors as Claude on the web, so the steps are identical. Custom connectors work on every Claude plan; the free plan allows one.
How to connect Claude Code to X
Install the Postel plugin, which adds the server and a writing skill:
A separate post for each network you name (LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon)
Multi-post threads work on X, Bluesky and Mastodon. Every post Claude saves shows up in Postel: drafts under Drafts, scheduled posts in your calendar, where you can still edit them, add a first comment or move them.
What Claude can't do on X this way
Read X for you. No timeline, mentions, DMs or live search. Research comes from the viral post library, not live X.
Act on other people's posts. No likes, replies, reposts or follows.
Use files from the chat. Images and video must be at a public URL. To use a file you uploaded to Claude, add it in the Postel editor.
Add a first comment, poll or Community post. Those are in the Postel editor, not through Claude.
Skip plan limits. X posts that contain a link are capped each month: 30 on Starter, 100 on Pro and unlimited on Team. See pricing.
If your workspace requires approval, posts Claude schedules wait for an owner or admin to approve them in Postel.

post on X as yourself (a founder, consultant or creator) and want Claude's drafts to sound like you
want posts in a calendar with real scheduling, not just "post now"
also post to LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon and want one place for all of it
would rather not run servers or apply for X API access
Not the right tool if you:
want Claude to read your timeline and mentions, or reply, like and follow for you. X's own MCP server reads mentions and timelines; to reply or like you'd need n8n or your own X app.
only want your X numbers in Claude for analysis. A data connector like Windsor.ai does that.
want a self-hosted setup you fully control. n8n with your own X app does that (you pay X's API usage).
Draft and schedule X posts from Claude, in your own voice
Postel learns how you write, drafts posts in your voice and publishes them to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon on schedule. Use it on its own or from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor.

Not on its own. Once a publishing connector like Postel is added, Claude drafts the tweet, you approve it, and Postel posts it to your X account or schedules it.
Can Claude schedule tweets?
Yes. Ask Claude to schedule a draft for a date and time and it goes out then. You can also have Claude create up to 25 posts in one request, each with its own date.
Does X have an official Claude connector?
Not for posting, as of October 29, 2026. X's own MCP server is for reading X (posts, search, timelines, mentions) and publishing Articles; its docs list no tool for regular posts or scheduling. It also needs your own X developer app.
Do I need an X developer account or API key?
No. You connect your X account to Postel once, and the connector uses that connection.
Can Claude write X threads?
Yes. Ask for a thread and Postel writes it (1 AI credit) and saves it as one draft, then schedules or publishes it as a single unit.
Can Claude add images or video to my X posts?
Yes, from a public URL: up to 4 images, or one video or GIF. Files you uploaded into the Claude chat can't be passed on, so add those in the Postel editor.
Is it safe to connect Claude to my X account?
Claude never gets your X password. Postel connects to X with X's own sign-in, and Claude asks you before it schedules or publishes anything, unless you've set those tools to always allow. Research is the exception: it can run connector tools without asking, so switch off Postel's schedule and publish tools before you use it. The workspace owner can disconnect X in Postel under Settings > Channels at any time.
Does this work for LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon too?
Postel's connector posts to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon. Ask Claude for a version for each network and Postel saves them as separate posts. For LinkedIn, see how to connect Claude to LinkedIn.
What does it cost?
$1 for 7 days, then from $29 a month. Cancel anytime. The connector is included in every plan. When Postel's AI writes a post it uses 1 AI credit; when Claude writes the text and Postel only saves it, no credits are used.
