Postel can't upload to YouTube yet. The connection is built and submitted to Google's app verification and YouTube API audit; once approved, you can upload and schedule videos and Shorts from Postel's calendar or from Claude through Postel's MCP server. It only uploads; it doesn't read transcripts.

Postel already posts to these today. YouTube joins the same calendar once Google approves Postel's app.
One video per post. MP4, MOV, WebM or AVI, up to 1 GB.
Title, privacy and made-for-kids, set per video. Titles up to 100 characters; privacy is public, unlisted or private.
Description. The post text becomes the description, up to YouTube's 5,000-byte limit (about 5,000 characters of plain English). Longer text is cut.
Shorts. YouTube makes a vertical or square video of 3 minutes or less a Short by itself, so Shorts need no extra step.
Resumable uploads. If an upload is cut off, it picks up where it stopped instead of starting over or posting twice.
One calendar. The video sits in the same calendar as your posts to your other networks.
What it won't do at launch
YouTube analytics. Planned for a later update.
Thumbnails, playlists, tags and category. Set those in YouTube Studio after upload.
YouTube's own scheduled publishing. Postel uploads the video at the time you schedule. It doesn't upload early and let YouTube release it later.
Reading YouTube. No transcripts, video search or comments.
AI planning. For You, Plan next week and post templates cover X and LinkedIn only for now. Write YouTube descriptions in the composer, or ask Claude to.
Uploading to YouTube from Claude once it's approved
Add Postel's MCP server to Claude today from Claude's connector directory, or add https://www.postel.app/api/mcp as a custom connector, and use it on the networks Postel posts to today. Once Google approves Postel's app, connect YouTube under Settings > Channels and the same connector can upload there.
You'll add the title, privacy and made-for-kids setting in Postel's editor; after that, Claude or you can schedule it.

No, not as of Oct 29, 2026. The YouTube connection is waiting on Google's app verification and YouTube API audit, and Google sets the timeline, so there's no launch date. Until then, Postel posts to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon. Leave your email and we'll email you when it's live.
Is there a YouTube MCP server that uploads videos?
Postel's will, once Google approves the app: Claude writes the description, attaches the video from a link and saves a draft; you set the title, privacy and made-for-kids setting in Postel, then schedule. It only uploads. For an MCP server that reads transcripts or searches videos, use one of the open-source servers on GitHub.
Can I schedule YouTube Shorts?
After approval, yes. Upload a vertical or square video of 3 minutes or less and YouTube makes it a Short. There's no separate Shorts setting.
Will Postel show YouTube analytics?
Not at launch. YouTube analytics come in a later update.
