Instagram Scheduler and Instagram MCP Server

Postel can't post to Instagram yet. The connection is built and submitted to Meta's App Review; once Meta approves it, you can schedule photos, carousels, Reels and Stories from Postel's calendar or from Claude through Postel's MCP server.

Postel already posts to these today. Instagram joins the same calendar once Meta approves Postel's app.

What Postel will post to Instagram

  • Professional accounts. Creator or Business accounts, connected with Instagram Login. No Facebook Page needed.
  • Photo posts. One photo, up to 8 MB.
  • Carousels. 2 to 10 photos or videos in one post.
  • Reels. One video (MP4 or MOV, up to 300 MB). A Reel also shows in your profile grid unless you switch that off.
  • Stories. One photo or video. Stories show no caption.
  • Captions. Up to 2,200 characters and 5 hashtags.
  • One calendar. Write the Instagram caption next to the same post's text for your other networks and schedule them together.

What it won't do at launch

  • Instagram analytics. They need a second Meta review, which Postel files once publishing is approved.
  • Personal accounts. Meta's API only publishes to professional accounts. Switching a personal account to Creator is free in Instagram's settings.
  • PNG and WebP photos. Photos must be JPEG for now.
  • Tags and extras. No user tags, location, product tags or Reel audio.
  • AI planning. For You, Plan next week and post templates cover X and LinkedIn only for now. Write Instagram captions in the composer, or ask Claude to.
  • An inbox. Postel publishes. It doesn't read comments or DMs.

Posting to Instagram from Claude once it's approved

Add Postel's MCP server to Claude today from Claude's connector directory, or add https://www.postel.app/api/mcp as a custom connector, and use it on the networks Postel posts to today. Once Meta approves Postel's app, connect Instagram under Settings > Channels and the same connector can post there.

Who it's for

A good fit if you already post to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky or Mastodon and want Instagram in the same calendar, or you'd rather ask Claude to post than open another app.

Not a fit if you need Instagram today (Buffer and Hootsuite both list it), Instagram analytics or a comment and DM inbox.

Use Postel on X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon while you wait

Postel learns how you write, drafts your LinkedIn and X posts in that voice, and schedules them from one calendar.

Frequently asked questions

Updated Oct 29, 2026.

Can Postel post to Instagram today?

No, not as of Oct 29, 2026. The Instagram connection is waiting on Meta's App Review, and Meta sets the timeline, so there's no launch date. Until then, Postel posts to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon. Leave your email and we'll email you when it's live.

Can Claude post to Instagram?

Not through Postel as of Oct 29, 2026. Once Meta approves Postel's app, yes, through Postel's MCP server: Claude writes the caption, attaches photos or a video from links, saves a draft and schedules it for the time you give.

Do I need a Facebook Page?

No. Postel uses Instagram Login, which works with a Creator or Business account on its own.

Can I schedule Reels and Stories?

After approval, yes. A Reel takes one video and shows in your profile grid unless you turn that off. A Story takes one photo or video and shows no caption.

Will Postel show Instagram analytics?

Not at launch. Insights need a second Meta review, which Postel applies for after publishing is approved.

What does it cost?

Plans start at $29 a month, and Starter and Pro begin with a $1 seven-day trial. Every plan connects every live network, with no charge per network.
