What’s in your Instagram Wrapped

These three are made to be posted, in 9:16 for your story and square for your feed. There’s no “your people” card: Instagram’s file only has comments you wrote, not ones you got.

  • Your year as a ring

    One line for every day you posted in 2026. Your best line from your best recent post, set large underneath.

  • Your best post this fall

    From the months Instagram gives numbers for, in its real shape, and how far it went past your typical post.

  • The kind of creator you were

    One plain label from a short list, with your weeks as proof and the rule printed underneath, so you can check it.

Every number comes from a post

  • Counted, not guessed

    Every number is added up from your posts. No AI estimates a total, and every card says where its number comes from.

  • Only what you made

    Posts and quote posts from Jan 1 to Nov 30, 2026. Replies and reposts aren’t counted.

  • Fair comparisons

    “21× your usual” compares your best post with your median post, not the average, so one big hit doesn’t make the rest look small. It’s only shown at 3× or more.

  • Nothing that stings

    No follower losses, no “down from last year”, no rank in the bottom half. If a number doesn’t exist, the card leaves it out instead of showing a zero.

The kinds of creator, and the rule behind each

Each card prints its rule in small print. They’re checked in this order, and the first one that fits is yours. With fewer than 12 posts you get a shorter Wrapped without a type.

How Instagram Wrapped works

  1. Download your information

    In the app: Profile, the menu, Accounts Center, Your information and permissions, Download your information. Pick your Instagram account, JSON and the last year. Instagram emails you when it’s ready, usually within hours.

  2. Drop the file here

    Your browser reads it on your device. Every post and when you shared it land on the cards, plus the numbers your insights have.

  3. Keep the cards

    Sign in with X, LinkedIn or Google in one tap for the full set. Save them as images for your story or feed, or post one on Instagram with text you can edit first.

What we read, and what we don’t

  • Your Instagram data file, read by your browser on your device. It’s never uploaded.
  • No access to your Instagram account, and nothing reads your profile. You only sign in if you want to keep the cards.
  • If you make a page to share, only the numbers on your cards are saved, not the file. You can delete the page any time, and every page goes away on Mar 31, 2027.

BetaInstagram’s file lists every post, but only professional accounts get numbers, and only for the last few months. So your post of the year comes from those months, and the card names them. If your file looks different from what we expect, we’ll say so instead of guessing.

What is Instagram Wrapped for creators?
A year in review of what you posted on Instagram in 2026, made from the data download Instagram gives you: every post and when you shared it, your best recent post, your rhythm, and the kind of creator you were. Instagram doesn’t make one itself.
Do you need my Instagram password?
No, and don’t give it to any app that asks. You download your information from Instagram yourself and drop the file in. It’s read in your browser and never uploaded.
How do I download my Instagram data?
In the app, open your profile, tap the menu, then Accounts Center, Your information and permissions, Download your information. Choose your Instagram account, the format JSON and the last year. Instagram emails you when it’s ready, usually within hours.
Why are my numbers only for the last few months?
The download lists every post, but likes, comments and saves come only from Instagram’s insights, which professional accounts get, and only for recent months. So the ring and your rhythm cover the whole year, and your post of the year comes from the months with numbers. The card names them.
I have a personal account. Does it work?
Yes. You get your year: what you posted and when, your rhythm and your type. Without insights there’s no post of the year by likes.
Why is it a beta?
We built the reader from the format the app documents and are testing it on real files before Dec 1. If your file looks different from what we expect, it says so instead of guessing at your numbers.
When can I get mine?
On Dec 1, 2026. Leave your email and you get one email that day, nothing else. The cards cover Jan 1 to Nov 30. In January they’re redone with the whole year, and you can make a new set.
Is it free?
Yes. There’s no paid version and no card to enter. You can start without an account. To keep your cards and share them, you sign in with one tap, with X, LinkedIn or Google. There’s no password to make.
