DeepSeek Harness Social Media Plugin: Post to X and LinkedIn

The dsh-postel plugin connects DeepSeek Harness (dsh) to Postel, so your agent can look up posts that did well in your niche, write your version in your own voice, and save, schedule or publish it to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon. It installs with one dsh plugin command. Research works without an account; drafting and posting need a Postel API key.

What the plugin does

dsh-postel adds two things to a dsh profile:

  • Postel's tools. It connects to Postel's hosted MCP server (https://www.postel.app/api/mcp) through the MCP client that ships with dsh, so your agent gets Postel's 17 tools.
  • A writing skill. postel-writing tells the agent the order of work: look at what's working, draft, then confirm the text, network and time with you before anything is scheduled or published.

A time slot, or nowschedule-post, publish-postSchedules a draft or publishes it right away.

It doesn't read your feed or messages, reply, like or follow. On LinkedIn it posts to your personal LinkedIn profile. On YouTube and TikTok, the agent saves the video post as a draft, and you choose the settings those networks ask for on every post, such as title and privacy, in Postel's editor before it's scheduled. TikTok posts go out as Only me from a private account until TikTok finishes reviewing Postel.

Install dsh-postel

Step 1: Add the plugin

Terminal
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-postel

--profile web adds it to the profile you start with dsh web; use your own profile's name if it's different. Restart the profile afterwards. The package is dsh-postel on npm (version 1.1.1), and the source is in Postel's public repo (MIT). It isn't in dsh's in-app plugin index yet (checked November 4, 2026), so install it by name as above.

You can also install straight from GitHub:

Terminal
dsh plugin --profile web add \
  "github:robinfaraj/postel-mcp#path:/plugins/dsh-postel"

Step 2: Try it without an account

Ask: "What's going viral about cold email this month?" The research tool works without signing in. The other tools reply that they need a Postel account.

Step 3: Add your API key to draft and post

Sign up for Postel and connect the accounts you post to under Settings > Channels. Then create a key under Settings > API Keys (keys start with pstl_) and set it before you start dsh:

Terminal
export POSTEL_API_KEY=pstl_YOUR_API_KEY
dsh web

Or put POSTEL_API_KEY=pstl_... in $DSH_HOME/.env. The plugin sends the key only to Postel's server and makes no other network calls.

Things to ask your agent

  • "What's done well on X about pricing pages this month? Show me the top five and why they worked."
  • "Write my take on the third one for LinkedIn: we cut our pricing page to one plan and conversions went up. Save it as a draft."
  • "Turn this changelog into an X thread and schedule it for Thursday at 3pm my time."
  • "What's scheduled for next week?"

Good to know

  • It asks first. The skill tells the agent to confirm the text, network and time with you before it schedules or publishes. If your Postel workspace requires approval, scheduled posts also wait for an owner or admin.
  • What reaches the model. Research results, your drafts and your schedule join the conversation, so they reach whichever model provider your profile uses.
  • Scheduling needs a paid plan. Saving drafts works without one; scheduling and publishing need one: $1 for 7 days, then from $29 a month. Cancel anytime.
  • Settings. Override the postel row in your profile's cordis.patch.yml to read the key from another variable (apiKeyEnv) or to leave out the skill (skill: false).

Have your dsh agent find what's working in your niche and write your version

Postel finds posts that did well in your niche, writes your version in your voice and schedules it to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Mastodon, YouTube and TikTok. Use it on its own or from DeepSeek Harness, Claude or any other MCP client.

Frequently asked questions

Updated Nov 4, 2026.

Can DeepSeek Harness post to X (Twitter) and LinkedIn?

Yes, with a plugin. With dsh-postel installed and a Postel API key set, your dsh agent can save, schedule and publish posts to X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon. Postel posts through each network's official API, so you don't need an X developer account.

Is dsh-postel free?

The plugin is free and open source (MIT). Research works without an account. Drafting, scheduling and publishing need a Postel account: $1 for 7 days, then from $29 a month. Cancel anytime.

Does the plugin need my X or LinkedIn password?

No. You connect your accounts once in Postel. dsh only gets a pstl_ API key, which you can revoke any time under Settings > API Keys.

Does DeepSeek Harness support MCP servers?

Yes. dsh ships an MCP client (@deepseek-ai/dsh-mcp-client), and dsh-postel uses it to connect to Postel's server over Streamable HTTP. You don't have to configure it yourself.

Which networks can it post to?

X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and Mastodon. On LinkedIn, posts go to your personal LinkedIn profile. On YouTube and TikTok, the agent saves the video post as a draft, and you choose the settings those networks ask for on every post, such as title and privacy, in Postel's editor before it's scheduled. TikTok posts go out as Only me from a private account until TikTok finishes reviewing Postel.
